Here’s Exactly How Kanye Has Hurt Kim Kardashian’s Style

It’s hard to think that there was a time when Kim Kardashian didn’t have Kanye West as her temperamental arm candy. However, if you haven’t noticed, she has gone through some drastic changes since they first began dating. From her style, to her red carpet demeanor, there has been an evolution to the reality star’s overall aesthetic – but has it been a positive or negative change? To get the fan’s perspective, polling app Wishbone surveyed over 10,000 people to answer the burning question: was Kim better before or after the Yeezy influence? Let’s find out below.

To Weave or Not To Weave?

For years Kim Kardashian has always been known for her over-the-top, big hair, whether she was sporting stick straight layers or voluptuous curls. As it comes to no surprise to anyone, this signature look was achieved by a heavy duty set of hair extensions, an accessory we have been seeing less and less of with Kanye now by her side. Once Kanye stepped into Kim’s life, reports have said he made her ditch the hair extensions for a more “natural” and “edgy” look vs. the video vixen she was portraying with her show-stopping hair. But which look is best?

The Results:

Out of over 10,000 votes, the majority 54% have moved on from Kim’s vegas-style hair and prefer her more natural look with little to no hair extensions. Although nearly half of the voters feel she looks stunning with all that extra mane, the look has come and gone and should be left back in the early 2000’s. Kanye was right here: less is more.

Colors or Black Everything?

A couple year’s back Kim was quoted saying that over the years she had always loved to throw in color in her wardrobe. However, with Kanye as her new stylist, we’ve been seeing less and less of that and more and more of various shades of black and white. Rarely do we see her in color nowadays. Some people may call it more basic and neutral, others may call it just flat out boring and depressing. What do the fans feel about her color change of heart?

The Results:

Out of over 15,000 votes, the majority 55% chose Kim wearing colors vs. in all black. It’s no surprise here- fans want to see Kim in a variety of looks not just the same old dark garb from the same designers. It’s true black looks good on everyone, however having Kanye change up her look for the Spring/Summer seasons or once in a while throwing in a splash of color to break up the blandness wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Try again Kanye.

Is Less Skin More?

When Kim was climbing the Hollywood ladder back in the day, her red carpet attire was at times less than flattering. She would dress proactively in revealing short skirts and low-cut tops – a Kim not many of us are used to seeing nowadays! Over the year’s Kim’s style matured with her age, however once Kanye stepped in, her wardrobe took a turn for the runway. Kim began wearing more conservative outfits from top designers — equally as sexy but 100x more sophisticated. Which look on Kim do fans prefer more?

The Results:

Out of over 10,000 votes, the winner with 58% of the vote is the more modest looks vs. the short and revealing outfits. Sometimes showing more skin is just trying too hard. Kanye knows that Kim has reached a level of celebrity where she no longer needs to use her body for fame. Her new A-list, high-fashion style has catapulted her into a new level of fashion couture. Something Kanye loves and appreciates. Another win for Yeezy on this one.

Kim Smiling or Not Smiling?

For most people, it’s normal and natural to smile while getting their photos taken. For Kim Kardashian that was the norm as well — until she started dating Kanye West of course. Kim has now adopted Kanye’s famous “no smiling” pose, however she is stating it’s for a bigger reason than just being “cool.” According to reports, Kim has attributed the non-smiling to the change of heart that she’s had towards the cruel, body-shaming paparazzi. Regardless of the reason, do the fans love her more with or without her pearly whites?

The Results:

Out of over 11,000 votes, the majority 59% prefer to see Kim smiling and upbeat vs. serious and somber. She carries such a beautiful smile it’s no surprise the fans like to see her upbeat and grinning in photos. Slowly but surely we hope both her and Kanye’s frowns turn upside down. Kanye, why so serious?!

Going With Highlights or Going Platinum?

Forever and always we’ll know Kim K. to be a stunning brunette. Only a handful of times has she dabbled in blonde highlights or lighter shades and every time it’s been for a very short period of time. She’s always played it safe until Kanye stepped in. Last year during Paris’ Fashion Week, Kim stepped out with Kanye hand in hand with a jaw-dropping, drastic platinum blonde locks that shocked the world. Kanye has always encouraged Kim to be edgy, but did this look go too far?

The Results:

Out of over 2,000 votes, a whopping 82% prefer Kim brunette vs. the edgier platinum blonde. Pulling this off was a huge stretch for Kim, which we applaud her for doing! However, her signature look has always been a brunette beauty and we’d all prefer if she stayed that way. Sorry, Kanye.

Long Locks or Shoulder Length?

Speaking of signature looks, everyone knows Kim’s long locks are one of the biggest things she’s known for. Back in 2014, she chopped her hair off into a stylish lob, hopping to please Kanye with a more fashionable look. Gossip columns reported Kim K. hated the new locks and couldn’t wait to go back to extensions to gain the length back. Which version of Kim do the fans love best?

The Results:

Out of over 11,000 votes, a staggering 70% of the voters chose Kim with a long mane vs. a short and edgier cut. She looks beautiful both ways but she is sexiest with a slimming length of long dark strands and the fans agree. Kanye needs to just leave some things as they are – it’s for the best!
