Voters Decide The Best Dressed At 2016 SAG Awards
Celebrities stepped up their game for the 22nd Annual Screen Actors’ Guild Awards on Saturday, January 30. This is a unique awards show in that there is no host and actors celebrate their fellow actors. And they did not want to disappoint their peers while strutting down the red carpet. Wishbone voters picked their favorite looks of the night. Check out how they voted and see if you agree!
Lookin’ Flirty in Pink
Sofia Vergara stunned on the red carpet in a custom hot pink Vera Wang dress with a matching clutch and beautiful jewelry. Ever the bombshell, Vergara did not disappoint. Star of “Game of Thrones” went for a bright pink as well in Dior. The low neckline and tousled hair made for a sultry look. But of the two, Vergara is a clear favorite of the red carpet and Wishbone voters were more than pleased.
Green with Jealousy
Nominated for “Steve Jobs,” Kate Winslet looked flawless in a deep green custom Giorgio Armani dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and Neil Lane jewelry. Eva Longoria went for a Julien Macdonald number in green as well. However, her dress was far from simple with a deep neckline and intricate beading. Voters favored Winslet’s look as she was able to achieve a classier look even with a hint of sexy.
Pretty in Pastel
Winner for Best Actress at the SAG Awards, Brie Larson donned a pastel blue Versace dress with a slit to show off her Roger Viver shoes. Larson owned that dress both on stage and at the red carpet. Fellow nominee Saoirse Ronan wore a pale pink Michael Kors dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Forevermark Diamonds Jewelry. Voters gave Larson a slight edge on this one giving her another win for the night!
That Slit Though
Sarah Hyland rocked a blue strapless J. Mendel dress, Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry. The highlight of the beautiful ensemble was the slit on the dress which made a youthful and sexy look. Anna Farris also did the slit well in a sleeved red Naeem Khan dress and Stuart Weitzman heels. Hyland had the majority of Wishbone users vote for her ability to look fun and flirty at the ceremony.
Marisa Tomei walked the carpet in a green sparkled Zuhair Murad dress. But don’t be fooled by the long-sleeves as the gown was by no means conservative with its low neckline. This allowed for a perfect balance of classy yet seductive. Winner of the SAG Awards for Best Actress in a Limited Series, Queen Latifah looked ever the royal in a Michael Costello dress and Fred Leighton jewelry. It seems Tomei received more votes for the bold neckline.
Battle of the Successful Sisters
Rooney Mara went for a simple yet classic look, very much her style, in a black low cut Valentino gown. The nominee for Best Actress looked elegant and polished. Kate Mara took a different approach than her sister although it was a Valentino gown as well. The tan dress had a unique neckline and style that seemed more edgy. Voters weren’t unanimous on this one as both sisters have a very interesting style but it seemed Rooney’s ability to look flawlessly glam won over more votes.
Bold and Different
Winner of the night for Best Supporting Actress was Alicia Vikander who wore a beautiful and colorful Louis Vuitton dress that had her shimmering on stage. It was a bold look that she was able to pull off by keeping her hair, jewelry and makeup simple as to not take away from the dress. Rachel McAdams, on the other hand, wore a black lace Elie Saab number with Brian Atwood shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. This was a bold look as the dress has many different designs and features all put together but it was by no means overwhelming. Voters agreed and chose McAdams’ look over Vikander’s.
